Calipers

Mmmmmm - delicious.

Emily Car's front brakes utilize the ubiquitous Girling 14LF caliper, shown above in all their glory.  There are upgrade options but with stick rubber and street-only intentions this is likely a ware of time.  The 14LF calipers and rebuild parts are widely available.  This pair has 4 seized pistons, likely the best to replace.

Parking Brake

Have prepped and painted a few of the brake parts and umbrella handles, and have begun staging parts for reassembly.

The longer arm is from a TC, the shorter from an S2.   The S2 unit is shared with a Ford Cortina, and is marked FoMoCo - Ford Motor Company.

The longer arm has been restored, hoping it will work in the S2.   The shorter arm is bent, and in inferior condition.

Cables

The various cables were sorted and assessed, cleaned and lubed.
  • Clutch Cable - have two serviceable units, however they may not apply to NG gearbox..
  • Speedometer Cable have one with drive gear attached.  Have another, but shorter.  both serviceable.
  • Double ended e-brake yoke cable. Have one, poor condition, should replace.
  • Single parking brake cable from multiplier to yoke - have two in GC.
  • No throttle cable. Acquire once dimensions understood.

Brake Hoses

The rigid lines have been left intact with fittings to assist in later replacement.
The flex hoses require replacement, per below.

Pedals

Have one restored pedal cluster, serviceable.  need 1/4-24 nuts
remains of one corroded pedal cluster.   Suitable for rebuild parts.
Two early type cotter-pin pivot throttle pedals, one requires brazing, other restored.
Second shaft-type throttle pedal assembly, in good condition, restored.

Master cylinder

This is a VW unit, 17mm dual circuit.  It has several ports on it, not entirely sure why.

This should use a readily available reservoir, like this:
